Coaches & Umpires

Junior coaches

If you are interested in coaching a netball team please contact the club. We encourage current players to share their love and knowledge of the game with our junior teams.

Netball Victoria conducts coaching courses throughout the season at different clubs and associations which you can attend. The Netball Victoria website has full details of coaching pathways and has a calendar of when the different level of courses are held.

NetSetGo assistants

Before becoming a junior coach, you may like to learn some coaching skills as a NetSetGo assistant.

NetSetGo assistants help coaches with drills, activities, and organising games for our younger NetSetGo participants, ensuring they pick up netball skills whilst having fun.

Umpires

If you are turning 14 or older in the current season, you can start umpiring.

The first step is to complete the online umpiring test and achieve 80% or higher.

Log into your Mynetball. Under the learning tab, you will find online learning and the courses available. Once completed, print your certificate and hand to Mandy, the umpire coordinator at the Mornington netball courts.

You can earn $6 per game as a trainee and up to $20 per game once you have your C badge.

Netball Victoria also conducts Level 1 umpiring courses through clubs and associations which you can attend. You will find a calendar of courses being held on the Netball Victoria website.

The Balnarring District Netball Club trains on the land of the Bunurong People.
We acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.
